HI, I’m Cherri’ Sterling.

   I was born in Jacksonville, Florida (Let’s just say, a while back!). Upon graduating from High School a year early, I joined the United States Marine Corps. After spending 16 years in the service, both active & reserve, I was injured & had  to leave my military duties. Throughout  my military career and after, I raised 5 children (3 kids in the Air Force, 1 in the Navy as well as 1 daughter-in-law in the Air Force, & 1 son-in-law serving as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Army!), obtained 3 college degrees, was a firefighter/EMT, ran a marathon, & am presently writing a book.

   I have loved drawing, painting, sketching & coloring since I was old enough to hold a tool in both hands (yes, both hands at the same time!) Anything and everything inspires me…a memory, a glass of wine, rain falling, the crash of an ocean wave, something I read… the world is my blank canvas. I have no special medium as I am self-taught in most everything, from pencils, to paints, even custom stained glass.

   When I paint, draw or color, I try to capture movement with reflections of light. I want those that view my work to feel the wind blowing in the fur of an animal, hear water flowing, liquids pouring, the ocean churning… feel the warmth of the sun, the joy of playing with bubbles, or the coolness of the morning dew on the delicate petal of a flower…I hope the viewer can feel the passion I put into my work, as I want sound, light and emotion to resonate from the canvas….

Since I have never had any training in art whatsoever, I give 100% credit of my talent to the Glory of God.
